Industrial Painter - 3rd Shift (On-Site Role)
Schedule: 3rd Shift: Monday-Friday, 10:30 PM-7:00 AM
Training: Candidates must be available to train on 1st and/or 2nd shift prior to transitioning to 3rd shift.
Position Summary:
Our client, a leading aerospace manufacturer, is seeking a skilled Painter to support the finishing and coating of precision aerospace engine components. This position is responsible for preparing surfaces, applying specialized coatings, and ensuring finished products meet stringent aerospace quality standards and customer specifications.
The ideal candidate has experience with industrial, aerospace, automotive, or precision spray painting and enjoys working in a quality-driven manufacturing environment where attention to detail is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare aerospace components for painting by cleaning, masking, sanding, and performing other surface preparation activities.
- Apply paints, primers, and specialty coatings to aerospace components in accordance with engineering specifications, customer requirements, and FAA regulations.
- Read and interpret work orders, operation sheets, blueprints, technical manuals, and engineering drawings to determine coating requirements and production sequence.
- Set up, operate, and maintain spray equipment and paint booths to ensure optimal performance and coating quality.
- Perform routine maintenance on spray booth equipment, including replacing filters, cleaning hoses, rebuilding components, and maintaining required operating logs.
- Monitor coating thickness, finish quality, and overall appearance to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
- Maintain inventory of paint, coatings, masking materials, fixtures, and other production supplies.
- Detect defects, equipment issues, or process deviations and report concerns to supervision.
- Complete production documentation and hazardous material logs accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all environmental and safety requirements.
- Perform additional production duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- 1 to 3 years of manufacturing experience.
- Precision spray painting experience (Industrial, aerospace, or automotive)
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, operation sheets, and technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualification:
- Aerospace manufacturing experience.
- Refinishing experience.
- Experience working with spray booths and coating equipment.
- Knowledge of surface preparation, masking, and finishing techniques.
- Experience working with hazardous materials while following proper PPE and environmental procedures.
Don't meet every qualification? - - Candidates with industrial painting, automotive refinishing, powder coating, surface preparation, or other precision finishing experience who are eager to learn aerospace processes are encouraged to apply.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift & Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, protective clothing, gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection.
- Comfortable working around industrial equipment, paints, coatings, and chemical products while following established safety procedures.
