Schedule: On-Site Role, 3rd Shift (Mon-Fri, 10:30pm to 7:00am) - Must be able to train on 1st and/or 2nd shift.

Shift Information: 3rd Shift, Monday-Friday (10:30 PM-7:00 AM)
Training Requirement: Candidates must be available to complete training on 1st and/or 2nd shift prior to transitioning to 3rd shift.

Position Summary

Our client, a leading aerospace manufacturer, is seeking a Burr / Blend Operator to support the repair and overhaul of precision aircraft engine components.

In this role, you'll remove burrs, blend surfaces, smooth edges, and finish precision aerospace components using a variety of hand tools, pneumatic equipment, abrasives, and specialized finishing tools. Successful candidates take pride in producing high-quality work, possess excellent attention to detail, and enjoy hands-on manufacturing in a precision environment.

Candidates with machining, deburring, grinding, polishing, metal finishing, fabrication, aerospace, or precision manufacturing experience are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections from aircraft engine components.
- Blend and finish metal surfaces to precise engineering and customer specifications.
- Operate pneumatic hand tools, grinders, rotary tools, and other precision finishing equipment.
- Utilize carbide burrs, Cratex wheels, abrasive discs, buffing wheels, wire brushes, diamond files, and other finishing tools.
- Set up rotary tables, holding fixtures, and hydraulic workholding equipment as needed.
- Read and interpret operation sheets, work instructions, engineering drawings, and overhaul manuals.
- Inspect parts throughout the finishing process to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface quality.
- Identify defects, damaged components, or nonconforming conditions and report concerns to supervision.
- Maintain production documentation and quality records.
- Perform routine equipment care and maintain an organized, clean work area.
- Follow all safety procedures while using powered hand tools and abrasives.
- Support additional production activities as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing or industrial production experience.
- Deburring or blending experience.
- Precision grinding or polishing experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read work instructions and manufacturing documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and pneumatic equipment.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Experience
- Aerospace manufacturing experience.
- Metal finishing.
- Tool & die experience.
- CNC machining.
- Manual machining.
- Sheet metal fabrication.
- Aircraft component repair.
- Precision manufacturing.
- Experience using micrometers, calipers, and precision measuring equipment.
