This Controller role in West Monroe is for someone who understands the full picture, not just A/R and A/P. You track the details, close things out, and keep the numbers accurate.

Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA is strongly preferred.
  • 7-10 years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing accounting experience required.
  • Previous experience supporting multiple manufacturing plants or business units is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and GAAP compliance.
  • Experience with manufacturing ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory valuation, variance analysis, labor costing, and overhead allocation.
  • Proven leadership, team development, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with ERP implementations, system conversions, mergers and acquisitions, or lean manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
  • Ability to lead strategic financial initiatives while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Job Duties:



  • Lead all accounting operations across multiple manufacturing facilities, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll oversight, Fixed Assets, and month-end/year-end close.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present monthly financial statements and operational reports for multiple manufacturing locations.
  • Manage manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and labor and overhead allocation.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and cash flow management to support business objectives.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls while ensuring compliance with GAAP and federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Analyze plant performance, manufacturing costs, and financial metrics to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with plant managers and executive leadership to support strategic planning and business decision-making.
  • Coordinate annual audits and collaborate with external auditors and tax professionals.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting teams across multiple locations while driving process improvements.
  • Support ERP implementations, acquisitions, system integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
