MTSI is seeking a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer to support development, integration and test of a large commercial derivative aircraft for use by national leadership personnel.The individual will support day-to-day tasks focused on design, development, and test of mechanical systems to include Environmental Control Systems, Fire Protection and Auxiliary Power Units.The individual will provide advice and recommendations on Airworthiness Compliance, risk identification and risk mitigation.The individual will apply MIL-HDBK-516 criteria to subsystem design and test, have a working knowledge of military airworthiness process, understand and apply compliance mapping and provide systems engineering evaluation, verification and validation of subsystems. The individual will support weapon system acquisition processes such as System Requirements Reviews (SRR), Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews (PDR/CDR), Test Readiness Reviews (TRR), Function and Physical Compliance Assessments (FCA/PCA), and Programmatic Management Reviews (PMR).The individual will work primarily on-base at WPAFB OH with some hybrid work.

Responsibilities:
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
*Provide engineering design, integrations, test and requirements verification to Air Vehicle Subsystems to include Environmental Control Systems (ECS), Fire protection, Auxiliary Power Units (APU).
*Provide test planning and data analysis.
*Provide sustainment operations planning.
*Support FAA and Air Force certification processes execution.
*Review engineering change notices/proposals, contract modifications and program risks and develop solutions.
*Support Airworthiness & Compliance process by applying in MIL-HDBK-516C criteria, military airworthiness processes, compliance mapping, and System-Subsystem Requirements Analysis development.
*Review engineering change notices/proposals, contract modifications, and program risks.
*Apply Systems Engineering processes and conduct trade-off assessments, translate requirements into system specifications, and support design/test activities.
*Provide Documentation and Reviews by preparing and/or reviewing technical evaluations, engineering studies, acquisition strategies, Request for Proposals, test plans and Requirement Verification
*Support Integrated Product Team by actively participating in project meetings and reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FCA, PCA, PMR, etc.).
*Provide system/subsystem performance analysis through assessments of cost, life cycle, maintainability, reliability, risk, and scheduling trade-offs.
*Apply regulatory knowledge of FARs, NPRMs, ADs, and AMOCs for certification and compliance.
*Apply Systems Engineering process to conduct trade-off assessments, translate requirements into system specifications, and support design/test activities.
Education:
*15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field.
Even better if you have these desired skills:
*Experience with commercial derivative aircraft and USAF ACAT 1 programs
Clearance Requirements:
*Must possess an active SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain a TOP SECRET clearance.
