Shore United Bank is seeking a full-time Mortgage Processor to join our team. As a valued member of our lending operations team, you'll be responsible for reviewing and preparing loan documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and helping borrowers reach the important milestone of closing on their loans. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys managing complex processes, maintaining high standards of accuracy, and contributing to a positive customer experience. Essential Functions Include:
- Review and verifies new loan information is entered correctly into the Empower system. Uploads credit report, SDAT, property taxes, sales contract, etc to file for initial disclosures.
- Communicates with Borrowers and all parties to request income/asset information. Uploads all income/asset information into Empower system. Completes income calculation and rental income sheets (if applicable). Runs AUS as needed.
- Completes the Processing Screen as tasks are requested and completed.
- Order FHA case numbers, CAIVERS, VA documents, appraisal, final inspections, appraisal reviews, flood cert, tax transcripts, DataVerify, condo docs, verifications of employment, and title work.
- Submit loans to Underwriting when ready. Document file with loan notes and Incomplete Notices on a regular basis.
- When loan is approved, communicate with Borrowers items needed to close. Once conditions are received, reviewed, and uploaded the loan is sent back to Underwriting.
- Communicate with Closers and title company to schedule closing dates and obtain title work and final items for closing. Request homeowner's insurance policy.
- Pull soft pull credit report and request verbal verifications of employment within 7 days of closing.
- Construction loans require construction docs to be sent to the Construction Dept for review and approval. Processor uploads construction contract, builder docs, appraisal, building permit, HOI (if applicable) to the Construction folder. Sends draw schedule to Borrowers and Builders when approved for signatures.
- If file has flood insurance, Processor is to complete the Flood Insurance Coverage checklist and obtain second review to verify coverage and policy are accurate and have sufficient coverage.
- Update locks to clear validation errors and extend locks through Optimal Blue as needed. Review lock expiration report on a daily basis.
- Processor to complete a Dead File Checklist and review for all loans that are denied/withdrawn/cancelled. Flood certs to be cancelled, file to document appraisal delivery and Adverse Action if applicable. Appropriate loan status to be entered and HMDA screen to be reviewed for accuracy and saved.
- Processors review their active pipeline on a daily basis to verify file is accurate, up-to-date and current at all times.
- Quality Control performed on all files.
- Processors to review the Loans to Close report to verify loans are clear to close as soon as possible and to communicate effectively and quickly with all parties any issues/problems.
- Knowledge of all product types is required.
- Attend training for new products as they become available.
- Demonstrates compliance awareness by completing all required regulatory and compliance training (e.g., BSA, CRA, ECOA) on or before deadlines, and actively supporting all policies, procedures, and practices that promote risk management, safety, and regulatory adherence.
Location: Westgate Building - 200 Westgate Circle, Suite 200, Annapolis, MD 21401 Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- Full-time.
- Non-exempt.
- Days of Work: Monday-Friday.
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma/GED equivalent.
- 2 years' experience in mortgage processing
- 2 years' experience in mortgage banking
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Knowledge of Empower loan system
- Knowledge of DocMagic
- Construction Loan processing experience
- Knowledge of SilverLake and Jack Henry software
Compensation:
- The pay range for this position is $27.50 to $39.25 hourly.
- Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, licensure requirements and/or skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer.
