Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Test Technician Supervisor. The Test Technician Supervisor is responsible for management of the Test Technician Department and Instrumentation team. The role will promote the Element Safety Culture, Quality, and Reliability to our customer testing requirements. The Supervisor will ensure the development of staff and encourage career growth. Cross training will be the core of the department to succeed in the growth of the testing business.

Salary: $90,000- $120,000/yr DOE



Responsibilities

* Perform Testing - Monitor tests per specifications, interact with customers if needed, troubleshoot, and document all pertinent data. Often mentors less experienced Technicians in the process
* Delegate daily activities to the staff and define the weekly capacity schedule.
* Work closely with the responsible Project Engineer and PM to ensure the schedule is being met.
* Lab Maintenance / Post-Test Breakdown - Physically remove test items. Maintain lab by cleaning all equipment, keeping calibrated instruments current, & organizing supplies.
* Develop Preventative Maintenance program to reduce equipment downtime.
* Standardize a process for component reliability such as assembling valves and filters following written procedures and other appropriate documentation.
* Interpret assembly setup requirements from written procedures and successfully complete assembly.
* Interpret test system schematics and successfully construct test system by obtaining correct system components and fabrication of stainless-steel tubing, including cutting, bending and flaring.
* Interpret test setup requirements from written procedures and successfully test component.
* Support testing utilizing gases and/or liquids (Nitrogen and helium) and Hydrogen.
* Support with testing at ambient temperatures as well as extreme cold and hot temperatures during thermal testing.
* Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
* Maintain assembly and test setups in good working order.
* Work closely with Procurement to track required material to meet build schedules
* Manage staff timecards and day-to-day operations
* Support with continuous improvement projects



Skills / Qualifications

* Must have a minimum of five (3) years experience in a similar work environment.
* 3+ years of production management experience
* Teamwork, communication (verbal and written), and problem solving in a collaborative environment
* Proven experience working on complex technical programs, preferably within aerospace or related industries
* Strong first principles thinking
* Hands-on experience with forklift and heavy lifting equipment
* Strong reasoning ability a must.
* Ability to read a P&ID schematic drawing and what it represents.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of five (5) year similar job experience preferably in an aerospace manufacturing environment or a combination of education and work experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Regularly lift up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. (such as working at a test bench). Must have good dexterity with hands and fingers.
