$21.02 - $36.96 Position Summary

Healthcare professionals responsible for development and supervision of laboratory quality management and improvement programs. Monitors and provides assistance with quality assurance and compliance functions. Provide consultation and direction to ensure the quality assurance programs and services are implemented at the highest of standards. Ensure policies and procedures are monitored and updated to include regulatory changes. Support clinic laboratory testing, quality control, quality assurance, phlebotomy, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting using CAP/COLA acceptable methods and standards.

Key Performance Areas KPA 1 - Documentation
  • Weekly review of QC results and address shifts/trends.

  • Address unsigned charges, if applicable.

  • Address collection record requirements as it pertains to charges.

  • Submit API testing online.

  • Submit monthly paperwork to Quality Assurance Supervisor.

  • Assist in preparation of COLA inspections by ensuring the following are available and accurate: Daily/Weekly/Monthly maintenance records, Quality Control Records, Calibration Records, Procedure Manuals, Temp Records; Proficiency Tests, Physician Signatures as needed, and employee required CEU's are current.

KPA 2 - Compliance
  • Comply with established safety guidelines.

  • Comply with all Federal and State laws and regulations pertaining to patient care, patient's rights, safety, billing, and collections.

  • Adhere to all Company and departmental policies and procedures, including Disaster Recovery Plan and IT policies and procedures.

  • Ensure adherence to correct testing policies, procedures, and quality assurance.

  • Complete all duties required to keep laboratory in compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies. Must be able to perform compliance testing.

  • Comply with protecting patient privacy.

KPA 3 - Training

  • Train new staff.

  • Train clinic personnel on the use and implementation of the Quality Assurance manual.

  • Periodically audit clinic sites to ensure standard practices are being followed.

  • Review, assess and document competency of Laboratory Associates. Provide training and/or develop plan for addressing any gaps identified.

  • Conduct monthly in-services.

  • Provide input for Laboratory Associates performance reviews as needed to their managers.

KPA 4 - Other job duties as assigned

  • Support clinic coverage, as needed.

  • Assist partnering laboratories with queries.

  • Participates in laboratory research and development projects as needed and as time permits.

  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Position Qualifications/Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Sciences or equal applicable/relevant experience in similar role.

Previous Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year laboratory experience.

  • Computer Skills:

    • Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook required.

    • Laboratory Information System.

    • Laboratory Instrumentation.

Certifications/Licenses

  • ASCP, preferred.

  • Valid state Driver's License for travel to satellite offices and offsite meetings. Compliance with the company Driver Safety Operations and Motor Vehicle Records Check Policy is required.

Travel: Less than 25%

Standard Work Days/Hours: Varies.
