Part-Time Dishwasher

UAS Dining Services Salary Range: $18.42 - $20.00 per hour

Work Schedule: This is a part-time, non-exempt position working up to 29 hours per week. Hours may vary to accommodate events, including Fridays and weekends. This position is not eligible for benefits.

Summary: Golden Eagle Dining Services provides hospitality service options for the California State University, Los Angeles campus. This position requires adherence to high standards of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism. The Part-Time Dishwasher reports directly to the Kitchen Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the general supervision of the Kitchen Manager, the Part-Time Dishwasher will assist the Lead Steward with dishwashing operations supporting both catering and restaurant services on campus.

Responsibilities include:

* Washing, sanitizing, and storing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment

* Following established dishwashing procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety standards

* Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing and kitchen areas

* Supporting kitchen operations as needed

Important Note: Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential. Repeated absences or tardiness may result in termination of employment.

Requirements: * Ability to maintain a positive, cooperative attitude when interacting with staff, co workers, customers, and the campus community

* Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, bending, pulling, and lifting up to 20 pounds

* Ability to use hands for handling, grasping, and reaching

* Ability to perform tasks involving stooping, kneeling, and repetitive motion

* Ability to work in environments with varying noise levels and kitchen conditions

The incumbent must demonstrate an interest or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the UAS. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or the continued employment of current UAS employees who apply for the position.
