Dewberry is currently seeking a Landscape Architect/Discipline Lead for our Orlando, FL office.Our Discipline Leads are seasoned professionals who navigate complex projects, negotiate contracts, develop and retain staff, and cultivate long-lasting client relationships. This is a strategic leadership opportunity to drive the quality, performance, and growth of the Florida Landscape Architecture practice while fostering talent, strengthening client relationships, and contributing to the long-term success of the region.

The Discipline Lead works closely with operational leadership to ensure consistency in practices, adherence to quality standards, and effective delivery of services across the Florida market.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

    Lead the Florida Landscape Architecture discipline, including staff development, workload management, operational performance, quality assurance, and business growth.
  • Implement the firm's quality management program and ensure quality processes and procedures are consistently followed.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, management, and technical guidance for the discipline and oversee the delivery of services.
  • Assist with project contract negotiations and support successful project execution.
  • Recruit, mentor, develop, and retain staff while building a sustainable talent pipeline to support future growth.
  • Manage staff workloads and project assignments to ensure budget, schedule, and quality objectives are achieved.
  • Identify technical resource needs and support the continued advancement of discipline expertise.
  • Collaborate with discipline managers across offices, business units, and regions to promote worksharing and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and implement initiatives, programs, and processes necessary to achieve departmental and regional objectives.
  • Partner with senior leadership on performance management, staffing decisions, employee development, and other personnel matters.
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy and accountability while aligning with regional and corporate objectives.
  • Develop and execute strategic growth plans for the Florida Landscape Architecture practice.
  • Meet established business development goals by generating new work and expanding existing client relationships.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Represent the firm in professional organizations, industry events, and business development activities.
  • Meet established utilization, business development, and leadership performance metrics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Skills & Required Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • Professional Landscape Architect (PLA/RLA) licensure.
  • 10+ years of progressive landscape architecture experience.
  • Proven business development and client management experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Experience managing budgets, contracts, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Strong collaboration, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.

Technical Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of grading, drainage, site detailing, and planting design.
  • Working knowledge of Rhino and SketchUp.
  • Knowledge of landscape architecture design, permitting, construction documentation, and implementation practices.
