Additionally, this position is also eligible for relocation assistance (based on location) and our employee referral program.* ***Late Summer/Early Fall New Graduate Nurses*** General Program Overview:The twelve-month UNC Health Rex Nurse Residency program supports the transition from academia to practice for new graduate nurses. The wrap-around support from all levels of nursing is designed to assist new nurses in developing competence and confidence in the professional role.In addition to clinical orientation on the unit, the Residency program provides structured clinical and professional growth. The first component of the Residency involves engaging classroom sessions highly focused on clinical skills and issues relevant to the unit and service line of the participants. The next component is comprised of continuing education professional development sessions, as well as completion of a group evidence-based practice project.Additionally, within the 12-month program, participants will complete milestones as defined by their unit and attend regular check ins with their unit leadership and educator.The New Graduate Nurse Program will offer varied start dates based on graduation and NCLEX dates. Unit Summary:UNC Holly Springs Women's and Children's Services - 5 Bed Tower Our Women's and Children's Services unit is a 10-bed unit located in the 5 Bed Tower at UNC Rex Holly Springs Hospital. We care for women after childbirth, patients recovering from minor gynecological surgeries, and stable pregnant patients (antepartum) who may need monitoring or bedrest.We are a growing team serving families in Southern Wake County and nearby communities. Our unit providescouplet care-one nurse caring for both mother and baby-for up to 3 mother-baby pairs in ourLevel II Birthing Center. Nurses provide assessments, education, and emotional support during the postpartum stay.We also care for patients recovering fromminor GYN surgeries, offering post-op assessments, wound care, and discharge education. Forstable antepartum patients, we provide bedrest support, monitoring, and follow-up tests like non-stress tests.Our unit includes a2-bed Level II nursery, where neonatal nurses care for babies who may need extra attention-like stabilization or support for newborns born at 35+ weeks. The nursery team works closely with the Women's Services team.Nurse-to-Patient Ratio:1 nurse for every 3 couplets (mother + baby pairs) Position Summary: Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reporting and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.
