Inova Health System has an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our busy Outpatient Urology team. This full-time, Monday through Friday position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. The provider will independently evaluate and manage patients with a variety of urologic conditions, collaborate closely with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team, and play an integral role in coordinating treatment plans, patient education, and follow-up care. Urology Advanced Practice Provider Job Responsibilities:
- Daily writing of progress notes
- Assessment and verbal presentation of ER and inpatient consults
- Writing of consult notes for attending review
- Performing or assisting with bedside procedures (for example: complex catheter placements (including intraoperatively for other surgical subspecialties), complex catheter removal, suprapubic catheter exchanges, urinary catheter irrigation for clot retention, irrigation of priapism, incision and drainage of scrotal abscesses, and others)
- Placing orders for admissions and discharges
- Ordering and interpreting labs and radiologic studies
- Fielding phone calls from beside nurses
- Multidisciplinary care coordination and patient education.
- Outpatient visits
- Some opportunity exists for first-assisting in the OR, as service needs permit or require.
Additional Requirements:
- Work schedule: 8 hour shifts: Monday thru Friday
- Education: Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program
- Experience: Prefer a provider with prior urology experience (inpatient or outpatient), or with a minimum of 2 years of any clinical experience.
- Board certified (ACNP or NCCPA certification)
