LIFEGUARD
Ensures safety at the aquatic facilities (Town Pool and Old Reservoir). Performs patron surveillance, enforces rules, responds to water and land emergencies as needed. Interacts with the public. Performs light maintenance, facility and custodial work (trash pick-up, cleaning locker rooms, raking beach, etc.), and other related duties as assigned. Required participation in weekly in-services (Thursday or Saturday mornings) including a 500 yd swim. Works under the direction and supervision of the Aquatics Manager, Assistant Manager and Head Lifeguard on duty. Requirements: * Minimum 16 years of age by June 1, 2026 * Current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification * Current Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification (required annually - LexRec provides recertification courses in the pre-season) * Current Red Cross Waterfront Module Certification required for placement at the Old Reservoir * Strong swimming skills, ability to react quickly and perform strenuous activity including lifting people * Additional required trainings provided by LexRec in the pre-season: concussion training and mandated reporter training Hours/Salary * Up to 20-40 hours / week (varies by season) * $18.75 hour Dates of Employment: * Mid May - August 30th Application: https://townoflexington.bamboohr.com/careers/47 For more information, please contact: Laura Perry, Recreation Supervisor, at LPerry@lexingtonma.gov | |
