Texas Oncology is looking for a Pharmacy Analytics Intern to join our team! This position will support the Texas Oncology Corporate Pharmacy Team in Austin, Texas or Dallas, Texas.

What does the Pharmacy Analytics Intern do?

Under direct supervision, implements, maintains, and resolves problems with the company's Applications. Masters the company's suite of information technologies to enhance processes, and communications and develops close relationships with users to ensure consistent customer service. Applies information technologies in the timely design, implementation and installation of high quality solutions for the company. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Implements, maintains, troubleshoots and resolves problems relating to company Applications.
  • Participates in the analysis of Corporate Information to ensure accuracy, timeliness, conciseness and value.
  • Achieves a high level of customer service and communication with clients.
  • Gains a working knowledge of the company's business drivers and determines opportunities/benefits for improvement of business performance by using information technologies.
  • Ensures that network practices are effectively and efficiently supported in their use of technologies by providing creative problem solving and/or referring to other appropriate company resources.
  • Identifies and recommends technology opportunities for solving business problems.
  • Maintains a high level of understanding of the use of information technologies in healthcare in relation to physician practices, patient care, continuum of care, electronic medical records and clinical research.
  • Works with other IT staff to deploy company strategies in the field and resolve problems.
  • Participates in technology planning and development cycles.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be a rising junior or senior at a college or university in Computer Science, IT or related discipline.
  • Entry level position, zero (0) to three (3) years experience in implementing client/server based information systems preferred
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records, relational databases, client servers, internet architecture and applications implementations preferred.
  • Project leadership skills preferred
  • Clinical knowledge/experience preferred
  • Proficiency in basic skills of Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Strong attention to detail required.
