Position Scope

The primary responsibilities of this job profile include conducting final product quality analyses and inspections in compliance with standards, customer requirements, and regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for interpreting and evaluating inspection and analysis results in terms of accuracy and precision against established specifications.

The Quality Control Final Inspection team performs inspection operations while working from drawings, customer specifications, and process operating documents. Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor, the Quality Control Final Inspector conducts product quality inspection and analysis in compliance with standards, customer requirements, and regulatory requirements.

This role requires substantial understanding of the job and the ability to apply broad knowledge of operational systems, inspection methods, and quality practices to complete a wide range of tasks. Work assignments are moderately difficult and generally established within the job area but may not always be routine. The Quality Control Final Inspector may make minor alterations to operating processes and systems to support inspection accuracy, quality performance, and operational efficiency.

This position normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and general guidance on newly introduced assignments. The role may also take on an informal team leader function on routine assignments, including assisting with training and supporting less experienced employees. Typically requires 3+ years of related manufacturing, inspection, or quality control experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Determine product acceptability using drawings, specifications, procedures, and visual inspection techniques, including frequent microscope use
  • Interpret and evaluate inspection and analysis results against established specifications and customer requirements
  • Document nonconformance findings and maintain quality records to prevent repeated product deficiencies and nonconformities
  • Perform inspections using various mechanical and electrical measuring and testing devices such as multimeters, calipers, CMM equipment, and micrometers
  • Create NCMRs (Non-Conforming Material Reviews) and notify appropriate personnel of findings
  • Provide data entry and administrative support to assist with defect tracking, quality documentation, and productivity metrics
  • Support and maintain defect libraries and quality databases
  • Develop positive working relationships with internal and external customers, including source inspectors, through collaboration and responsiveness
  • Communicate regularly with team members and supervisors/managers regarding suggested improvements or enhancements to procedures and systems
  • May assist with training and mentoring other employees on inspection techniques, procedures, and quality standards
  • Cross-train in other departments to support development of a broader cross-functional skill set
  • Comply with and support all department and corporate policies and procedures, including safety, security, OSHA, and regulatory requirements
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned

Essential Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend English written instructions, including manufacturing work orders, customer specifications, drawings, blueprints, and shop control documents
  • Strong understanding of quality inspection methods, measurement tools, and operational systems
  • Manual dexterity (hand/finger/eye coordination) required for detailed inspections and use of precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to use mechanical and electrical measurement and testing tools accurately and effectively
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects, inconsistencies, and quality concerns
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to support team objectives and customer requirements
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Excel, Word, email, and basic spreadsheet creation for data entry and analysis
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy and focus
  • Professional, dependable, flexible, self-motivated, and team-oriented approach to work
  • Ability to train or support less experienced employees as needed

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required
  • Typically requires 3+ years of related manufacturing, quality inspection, or quality control experience
  • Previous mechanical and visual inspection experience preferred
  • Experience working with blueprints, drawings, microscopes, and precision measuring equipment preferred
  • Due to ITAR requirements, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Compensation for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, TTM provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in New York, California and Colorado. For California-based roles, compensation ranges are based upon specific physical locations.
