The Credit Analyst will be responsible for analyzing credit data and assisting with completing the annual review process for commercial customers. Will complete independent analysis and risk assessments for prospective and existing relationships; make recommendations regarding loan structure and functioning as a valued resource to lenders with respect to credit/industry analysis, loan policy and prudent underwriting standards. This position also works cooperatively to support the Credit Analyst/Loan Review Manager and Commercial Banking President.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review customer portfolios for accuracy
- Responsible for financial statement spreading
- Review and analyze tax returns
- Complete independent analysis and risk assessments for both significant prospective and key existing relationships
- Make recommendations to Relationship Managers regarding appropriate loan products and loan structures based upon findings and will provide loan pricing analysis including pricing recommendations
- Participate in the initial and final structuring of credits
- Assist in development of new credit business via interaction with existing or prospective customers to gather key information for credit analysis
- Evaluates credit risk of the commercial loan portfolio via annual reviews of all commercial lending
- Identify problem loans or developing problem loans within a timely manner in order to minimize loan losses
- Assign risk grades to individual loan relationships
- Analyze borrower's capacity to repay debt and discuss with Relationship Managers regarding this analysis; discussions include a variety of issues which may affect borrower's ability to repay debt as expected and are essential, so a fully informed and valid conclusion regarding risk grades can be made

Minimum Requirements
Education:

Specialized knowledge/experience:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree with 12+ hours in Accounting, Finance or equivalent graduate level Accounting coursework
- Prefer 2+ years credit analyst/loan review experience
- Advanced analytical knowledge with a strong ability to interpret analytics and make deductions on facts and circumstances
- Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) with an ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Exercises judgment on credit analysis and loan reviews
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Communicating in English to locate, read, and report information
- Ability to use a personal computer equipped with standard keyboard and mouse

- This position requires regular attendance during regular business hours subject to in-person supervision during working hours and in-person interaction with coworkers and supervisors
- Must be able to work additional hours when needed (Example: month end close)

- Ability to sit at a standard desk for 8+ hours daily
