Position Overview
| Essential Job Duties |
The overall aim of this project is to develop gene drive strains for suppression of the New World screwworm. In the initial phase of the project we will work secondary screwworm, a very closely related species. We will work with primary screwworm in ACL3 containment at a later date, if an import permit is granted.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The scholar will work closely with Dr Amarish Yadav in developing docking lines for phiC31 recombinase.
- They will use these lines to create fsRIDL gene drive strains, building on our earlier work with fsRIDL lines.

The scholar will be contribute to maintaining the lab and will be expected to keep detailed notes in their lab book and present at lab meetings and meetings with the sponsor. |
