Temple University's Lewis Katz School of Medicine is searching for a Part-Time Program Coordinator

Position Summary:
The Lang Medical Scholars Program at Katz School of Medicine at Temple University is a six-year educational initiative that transforms a student's early interest in science into a vision for a career in healthcare. Through hands-on learning and collaboration with healthcare professionals, students from 7th through 12th grade explore each system of the human body, learning how healthy systems function, how disease develops, and how prevention and treatment shape individual, public and global health. Along the way, they gain early exposure to health careers and discover the many ways they can contribute to healthier selves and healthier communities.

The Program Coordinator ensures the Lang Medical Scholars Program runs smoothly by managing attendance, documentation, and operational systems that keep students, families, and staff details organized and communications with all parties timely. Working closely with the Program Director, this role provides essential coordination across program activities and logistics. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized college student or early-career professional interested in education, healthcare, or program management.

Required Education and Experience:
* Open to college students, recent graduates, or early-career professionals
* Three years of relevant experience; can include internships, student leadership roles, volunteer work, or part-time positions

Required Skills and Abilities:
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
* Experience with tools such as Word, Excel, Google, JotForm, or similar systems
* Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups (students, families, staff)
* Reliable, efficient, and able to follow through on tasks independently

Preferred Skills and Abilities:
* Prior experience as a program coordinator or in a similar administrative role
* Familiarity with data tracking, reporting, or program evaluation
* Experience working in education, youth programs, healthcare, or community-based programs
* Experience coordinating events, activities, or group programs
* Basic knowledge of budgeting or bookkeeping processes
* Interest in healthcare, education, or working with students

Essential Duties:
* Track student attendance and participation across all sessions
* Maintain student and family records (forms, emergency information, agreements)
* Monitor and manage staff clearances and required documentation
* Organize and maintain spreadsheets, and tracking tools
* Ensure all forms and records are complete, current, and accessible
* Support scheduling, rosters, and communication logistics
* Coordinate program outreach and student recruitment efforts, including scheduling school visits, communicating with partner schools, and organizing outreach materials and recruitment events
* Assist with data tracking for program evaluation and reporting
* Provide occasional on-site support for meetings or program activities
* Performs other duties as assigned.
