The Surgical Training Facility at the Orthopedic Trauma Institute is dedicated to the development and presentation of innovative medical, science and health workshops. Our facility is among a select few academic centers in the U.S. designed exclusively for orthopedic specialists to practice and perform today's newest and most advanced surgical procedures. Workshops are presented in full or half-day courses to train Orthopedic Surgeons in skills related to joint arthroscopy, ligament repair, orthopedic trauma, joint resurfacing and replacement and spine surgery.

Specifically, assigned projects will include lab preparations for surgical training sessions, handling and positioning of cadaveric specimens, surgical draping and instrumentation set-up. During training sessions, the employee will serve as technical support person for the lab, fielding questions regarding specimens, instrumentation and general use of the lab-including the Audio Visual communication system.

The employee will utilize the standard protocols of a gross anatomy lab, operating room, and sterile processing; provide technical assistance and operate the fluoroscopy and arthroscopy machines during surgical training sessions; maintain the cleanliness of the lab, restock laboratory supplies and equipment, and carry out other lab-related duties assigned by the Facility Manager and/or the Facility Coordinator.
