Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent plus 10 years of professional experience to include 3 years of supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years professional experience. Previous experience designing and overseeing the construction and operation of linear television/digital and in house video control rooms. 10 years of experience in live production with additional experience in remote production.
Position Summary
The Executive Director of Broadcast and Production provides leadership and direction for the digital and production unit and exercises comprehensive oversight of broadcast service units across planning, production, engineering, distribution, and quality assurance for live, digital, and invenue platforms. This role serves as the primary liaison to the SEC Network and other SEC television partners and ensures that all productions meet established institutional and network standards. The position leads day-to-day broadcast operations with emphasis on live and digital productions and collaborates with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional event viewing experiences.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Knowledge of designing and overseeing the construction and operation of linear television/digital and in house video control rooms.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in the video industry, including experience in live television broadcast, live streaming and video board production.
  • Expert understanding of broadcast controls rooms, production staffing and familiarity with modern broadcast pathway and signal.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, good organizational skills and ability to interact with individuals at all levels.

Leadership & Partnership Management

  • Provide oversight and leadership of the digital and production unit, guiding the operational, strategic, and technical direction of all broadcast services.
  • Manage and evaluate the work of 4 full-time staff members and indirectly manage the work of 3 full-time staff members who support the daily operations of the digital and production unit.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the SEC Network and other SEC television partners, ensuring alignment of capabilities, expectations, deliverables, and production standards.

Broadcast Operations

  • Lead the day-to-day operations for all live and digital productions for SEC Network and SEC television partners and supports and provides administrative direction for in-venue large-screen productions.
  • Collaborate extensively with internal and external stakeholders - including SEC Network, ESPN Programming, Fan Engagement, Event Management, Sport Communications, and others - to ensure the highest-quality event viewing experience.

Financial & Resource Management

  • Develop and manage budgets for all live production and broadcast areas, including linear, streaming, videoboard operations and production maintenance, as well as payroll for independent contractors.
  • Interface with the Business Office to maintain required documentation for independent contractors, budgets, purchase orders, reimbursements, and other operational expenses; ensure compliance with institutional and conference policies.
  • Direct and oversee the allocation of all broadcast technologies - including control room systems and in-venue audio and video delivery systems - to ensure productions meet established standards.

Technology Planning & Capital Projects

  • Lead and organize team development and maintain five- and ten-year strategic plans for broadcast and in-venue technologies, including life-cycle planning and maintenance agreements.
  • Coordinate and assign broadcast and production staff resources to departmental capital projects and the integration of innovative broadcast technologies.
  • Coordinate equipment procurement, upgrades, and maintenance to uphold institutional and network production standards.

  • Supervise the recruitment, onboarding, training, and scheduling of all temporary production staff, including independent contractors.
