Summary/Objective:

The CNC machinist operates computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts. The CNC machinist loads parts in the machine, cycles the machine and detects malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools. The position runs production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding production runs, and maintains a safe, organized, and clean work environment and adheres to our Quality Standards.

Essential Functions

  1. Performs all assigned machine shop operations.
  2. Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee.
  3. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition in accordance with Shift Hand-Off procedures and follows prescribed Safety procedures.
  4. Read orders and follow blueprint instructions.
  5. Select correct program and ensure proper setup
  6. Perform any routine maintenance if necessary
  7. Performs Quality inspection of machined products, and documents results according to Quality Standards.
  8. Completes and maintains Quality paperwork for parts.
  9. Assists in other work areas to perform fabrication, lay-out of parts, filtration of coolant and Burnishing tasks.
  10. Follow all company rules, Quality standards and Safety policies (OSHA).
  11. Ensure production schedule completion and facilitate quality paperwork.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be load.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. The team member is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position requires frequent lifting, pushing and pulling objects that are 25 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time hourly position, and hours of work and days are decided by production schedules and your reporting manager.

Pay Rate: $21.50- $22.50 per hour

Freedman by Lippert determines pay based on several factors, including but not limited to the position being offered, education, skills, work experience, and other factors permitted by law. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or graduation from a certified technical school.
  2. Minimum one year of related experience.
  3. Know How to Read a Measuring Tape , Micrometers and Calipers

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Two years or more of related experience
