Job Title: IT Asset Management Specialist
Location: Alexandria, VA
Clearance Level: Public Trust, Must Have Ability to Obtain a Clearance

Job Description

  • Perform all duties related to the tracking and management of IT equipment, assets, and software for a US Air Force Technical Directorate. This includes, but not limited to, preparing order requests, handling, storage, inventory, tagging/identifying, assigning, relocating, reutilizing, and dispositioning assets.
  • Assigned as the Primary Equipment Control Officer (ECO) responsible for managing IT inventory in the official Air Force Inventory System of Record and related duties in accordance with AFMAN 17-1203 Information Technology Hardware Asset Management.
  • Manage, generate, and distribute hand receipts for all assigned assets at the time of asset assignment, file and manage their accuracy in a central location (or database), and retain records for 360 days after they are returned.
  • Track software licenses, manage renewals, and installation records.
  • Receive, disassemble, pack, crate, document, ship, and transport equipment to appropriate DoW locations.
  • Prepare annual inventory of hardware and software reports. Provide monthly summary of software licenses procured, utilized, and available for use, and end of life status.

Education and Background

  • Associates degree or higher preferred
  • Military background preferred

Years of Experience
3+ years professional experience
Required Skills

  • Experience with inventory management software tools such as ServiceNow
  • Experience with handling IT hardware such as laptops, printers, IT accessories, and monitors.
  • DPAS/ELMS Property Administrator Certificate within 6 months of start date
  • CHAMP certification within 12 months of start date

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite tools such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
  • SharePoint experience
  • Experience in querying SQL databases

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift IT equipment life laptops, desktop printers, small servers
  • Must be able to drive a mid-size rental truck
  • Needs to be able to see, walk, and hear.
