Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Assistant for the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs (
EVPAA). The Research Project Assistant is responsible for supporting the use and implementation of Collaboratory, a web-based tool designed to collect campus engagement with the community. The position will leverage several sources of existing data that come in a variety of forms, interpret the information, research any missing information, and load it into Collaboratory. They will work with faculty and staff to verify the information is correct and take actions that reduce the burden of data entry for them. They will work with other students to enter projects through their course-based experiences or other roles they have on campus (e.g., graduate assistant for a faculty member, on-campus employment, student organization).
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Performs data collection efforts and conducts interviews with Rutgers faculty, staff and students.
- Analyzes existing data sets, identifying missing information, researching community engagement activities, and inputting the information into the Collaboratory database.
- Communicates with faculty and staff regarding the status of their projects in Collaboratory and working to ensure the information is accurate, verified, and submitted for public viewing.
- Queries Collaboratory and runs reports and summary materials as needed.
- Implements and maintains processes that track what information has been entered in Collaboratory, and action items that result from contacts with faculty, staff, and students.
- Finds and leverages existing sources of information and gathering additional information from faculty and staff for input into Collaboratory.
- Conducts internet searches to obtain additional information.
- Trains interns and work-study students in data collection methods, data cleaning, analysis, and monitoring.
- Completes work under direct supervision, with specific instructions and within established work parameters for the unit and keeps records of work performed.
- Contributes to efforts to tell a robust story of engagement that illustrates the collective impact of REACH's efforts to improve community partnerships.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field or discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant research experience.
