JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Provides general labor contributing to the coordination and execution of all maintenance and repair operations of Centerstone's facilities, grounds, and vehicles. Conducts preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, inspections, moving, mounting, assembling, and installations through a broad range of general crafts. Executes tactical operations required to implement capital improvement projects according to plan as assigned. Completes work orders including making necessary purchases as designated.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides general labor contributing to the coordination and execution of all maintenance and repair operations of Centerstone's facilities, grounds, and vehicles, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, inspections, moving, mounting, assembling, and installations through a broad range of general crafts including: electrical, plumbing, mechanical, finishes, structures, logistics, grounds keeping, purchasing, custodial services.
  • Responds to work order requests in a timely manner as assigned. Works with requestors and other relevant program personnel to complete work orders safely, diligently, and thoughtfully, and with minimal disruption to Centerstone's operations. Documents and updates work orders, inspections, and other assigned paperwork on a daily and ongoing basis, logging progress and data accurately as designated. Arranges work with external sources for intensive and emergent repairs as designated. Makes purchases necessary to complete work orders and replenish inventories as designated, assessing quality and cost factors to obtain best value.
  • Works with the Facility Coordinator as needed to assist in the development of scopes of work including field reports, observations, and conditions. Provides information to the Facility Coordinator on materials, processes, and cost alternatives as necessary. Assists the Facilities Manager in the development, implementation and monitoring of replacement schedules for agency vehicles, facility systems, appliances, and other equipment.
  • Executes tactical operations required to implement capital improvement projects according to plan, including the procurement of bids, estimates, and proposals as assigned. Alerts Facility Coordinator or Facility Manager regarding need for vendors. Assists in the oversight of capital improvement projects as directed.
  • Conducts required inspections of Centerstone properties as designated. Maintains an awareness of safety considerations and practices in anticipation and execution of tasks and proactively assists in the identification of potential hazards and corrective actions required. Takes initiative to prevent and resolve problems and offers recommendations for improving services.
  • Collaborates frequently with other members of the facilities team. Checks emails daily. Reports issues promptly to the Facility Coordinator.
  • Serves as the Facility Manager's and Facility Coordinator's designee as the site liaison for vendors and contractors including those conducting routine and contracted services.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
  • Knowledge of local vendors and contractors.
  • Knowledge of construction/carpentry/masonry techniques.
  • Knowledge of fire and other safety codes and requirements.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and cleaning.
  • Knowledge of computers and keyboarding.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Level

High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Years of Experience

Five plus years of experience in maintenance and repair operations and/or the ability to be certified in a trade such as, but not limited to, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC.

Required Certification/Licensure

Valid driver's license
