Wieland is hiring a Quality and Maintenance Engineer. The primary focus of this role is to maintain a preventative maintenance program to enhance and support equipment performance and minimize down time and support the quality team across responsibilities. This work shall be done by developing job plans and advanced work schedules while communicating and coordinating with the maintenance team, vendors, and management. This role is located in South Gate, CA and will be fully on-site. While this role is local, occasional travel to other locations will be required (10-15% travel).

Base Salary Range: $66,500-$80,000

May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based upon company performance within fiscal year cycle.

Responsibilities

Quality and Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities:

    Maintain integrity of data entered in the CMMS by coordinating and monitoring the work order system for accuracy and completion and working with managers to acquire full and complete data of all work performed.
  • Providing training to managers and shop floor users as needed and discerning the importance of the information given and condensing it into practical data.
  • Be a CMMS user expert and provide ongoing support on its use as well as problem resolution.
  • Perform various PM related tasks with outside contractors and/or our maintenance team.
  • Create and generate reports for management and users for use in execution, planning, and evaluation.
  • Plan future maintenance work, to reduce potential delays and maximize maintenance workforce "wrench time".
  • Develop work plans to indicate scope of what work is to be done and identify critical resources required and estimate level of effort (man-hours) required by skill.
  • Reserve or procure critical parts and materials required, as appropriate.
  • Maintain a list of approved and planned maintenance work.
  • Perform quality department tasks in accordance with our Quality Management System and customer requirements.
  • Support safety initiatives with planning and execution to support a strong safety culture.
  • Review equipment history on approved corrective work orders. Identify situations with repeat failures. Identify problem situations to operations, maintenance, and engineering for resolution.
  • Maintain contact with vendors for planning, status, and part availability.
  • All other job duties as assigned.

Quality and Maintenance Engineer Qualifications:

  • Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office products; Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to prioritize and work autonomously
  • Sufficient experience in the trade or in a planning position and experienced with the type of equipment and operating context being maintained to be able to identify all resources required to effectively execute the work.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO 14001 quality and environmental systems.
  • Ability to apply and understand root cause analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and training in planning and scheduling.
  • Good understanding of applicable health, safety and environmental regulations, standard and industry practices
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience, bachelor's degree preferred.
