JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS The Pediatric Research Office at the Penn State College of Medicine is seeking a part-time Human Research Technologist to support a program of research focused on evaluating the effectiveness, acceptability, scalability, and implementation of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) interventions for adolescents and adults with a variety of mental health conditions, including eating disorders, sleep disorders, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, and depression. The studies focus on adolescents as well as adults. While specific projects vary by year depending on funding, current and representative projects include: a college student-delivered CBT intervention for rural adolescents with depression, anxiety, and stress; a pilot trial adapting exposure therapy for adolescents with anorexia nervosa; a trial adapting CBT for sleep disorders in individuals with autism spectrum disorder; and development and pilot testing of an AI chatbot that delivers exposure therapy for adolescents and young adults via smartphone. This program of research sits at the intersection of mixed-methods data collection, implementation science, treatment adaptation, and psychotherapy clinical trials, with the overarching aim of improving the effectiveness, acceptability, and scalability of CBT for mental health conditions. Primary Responsibilities:
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in psychology, human development, or a related field; experience working with adolescents and young adults with eating, sleep, depressive, anxiety, and/or autism spectrum disorders; interest in psychotherapy development, evaluation, and implementation.
