Position Highlights:

  • Position: Physician Executive, Neurology
  • Location: Glenbrook, IL
  • Full time (.6 administrative, .4 clinical)
  • Hours: Monday-Friday
  • Required Travel: Occasional

What you will do:

  • Serves as the Lead Physician for Neurology within the Endeavor Health Medical Group (EHMG)
  • Reports to the President, Endeavor Health Medical Group Specialty Care for operations, the Endeavor Health Chief Physician Executive for strategy, and to the NorthShore Hospitals Chair, Neurology.
  • Serves as Vice Chair, University of Chicago Department of Neurology, reporting to the Chair, University of Chicago, Department of Neurology
  • Serves on EHMG operations and/or governance committees
  • Critical Relationships: EHMG Physician Presidents; EHMG President, Operations; President, Endeavor Health Neurosciences Institute; Chair and Physician Executive, Neurosurgery

Further, the Physician Executive is responsible for supporting the mission, vision, values, strategies and goals of Endeavor Health. The successful candidate will:

  • Be a master clinician with a collaborative leadership style.
  • Have demonstrated experience leveraging research and medical education in support of patient care.
  • Have a proven track record of clinical and administrative leadership, program growth and development. Evidence of recruitment and retention of outstanding physicians and other providers.
  • High level of interprofessional collaboration to navigate the complexity of a matrixed structure.
  • Value the contributions of all team members, fostering a just culture and inclusive environment.

What you will need:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

This leader will possess the following:

  • At least 10 years' experience in area of expertise in Neurology.
  • Minimum five (5) years administrative experience as a Division Chief, Medical Director, practice/program/service line lead, or similar position.
  • Clinical and organizational leadership track record.
  • Unwavering integrity.
  • Commitment to delivery of high-quality and compassionate care to all members of the community.
  • Advancement of health equity objectives in support of decreasing disparities in care and health within the communities served by Endeavor
  • Consistently demonstrates a proactive approach to leadership, including an open communication style, the ability to be direct, transparent and honest while exercising strong decisiveness and results orientation.
  • Experience in advancing an inclusive culture that draws strength from our similarities while celebrating our differences.
  • Demonstrated comfort with transformation to achieve sustainable improvements in quality and business performance metrics.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication and influence skills, enabling effective relationships with community physicians, nursing and other medical / surgical services, and hospital administration.
  • Ability to be accessible and successful in both academic and community settings.
  • Possesses strong clinical skills as an expert neurologist in their area of specialty.
  • Strategic and innovative leader, able to formulate philosophy, goals and ability to grow and develop clinical programs aligned with the system objectives.
  • Monitors and acts to continuously improve the quality, efficiency and productivity of the practice and fosters creative, innovative problem solving.
  • Strong business acumen; understands the financial aspects of running a complex organization and has experience in budget oversight and other management techniques.
  • Effectively incorporates knowledge of the business side of medicine and experience providing a growth mentality and financial oversight to all relevant responsibilities.
  • Ability to work and manage successfully in a complex matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated skill in recruiting, retaining and developing physician leaders, including setting performance expectations, safe workplace practices and development of programs that promote shared responsibility, accountability, engagement and resiliency.
  • Consistently demonstrates and reinforces behaviors consistent with the mission, vision and values of the system.

Education / Licensure / Certification

  • Graduate of nationally accredited and recognized medical school.
  • MBA, MHA, or other similar degree preferred.
  • Eligible for medical licensing in the State of Illinois.
  • Board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Illinois.
