Position summary
The Financial Reporting Analyst II provides financial reporting, analysis, and reconciliation support related to hospital operations, This role is responsible for preparing financial reports, journal entries, account reconciliations, and detailed analyses to ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The Financial Reporting Analyst II also supports process improvement initiatives, responds to ad-hoc reporting requests, and collaborates with departments across the organization to support informed financial decision-making.

Key responsibilities
Prepare recurring financial transactions, journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses related to hospital financial statements, balance sheets, grants, and special funds
Review and analyze general ledger accounts, account activity, and cost centers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and statistical reports for leadership, audits, grant sponsors, donors, and regulatory agencies
Support monthly close, quarterly review, and year-end audit processes by organizing and maintaining supporting financial documentation and schedules
Respond to internal and external ad-hoc reporting requests by developing detailed reports, analyses, summaries, graphs, and charts
Collaborate with department managers to support action planning, financial monitoring, and operational decision-making
Identify opportunities for process improvement and support implementation of enhanced financial reporting practices and workflows
Utilize financial systems, databases, and reporting tools to analyze data and improve reporting efficiencies
Support cross-functional collaboration and provide guidance to team members as needed
Complete additional financial analysis and reporting projects as assigned

Minimum qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field required

Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial reporting, financial analysis, accounting, or a related setting
Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills
Experience working with financial systems, databases, and reporting tools
Knowledge of GAAP principles, financial reconciliations, and reporting best practices
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
