Responsible for the activities and functions of the inpatient and outpatient phlebotomists. Offers expertise in phlebotomy to include, and not limited to: phlebotomy, processing, accessioning, and send-outs. Serves as a subject matter expert and reference to staff. Takes part in department operation planning and ensures effective use of system resources. Participates in process improvement activities. Oversees staffing matrices, conducts performance evaluations, and disciplines employees. Ensures policy and procedures are followed by staff. Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies. Oversees performance of specimen processing, accessioning, phlebotomy, heel and finger sticks, customer service, clerical duties, effective communication with laboratory customers, problem resolution, record keeping, supply inventory and maintenance, as well as cleaning and maintaining a safe work environment. Additional duties include the operation of instruments, and preventative maintenance as appropriate to each section/department. assigned. Performs all duties in a manner consistent with current laboratory safety standards. Maintains a current Phlebotomy Certification issued by the state of California Laboratory Field Services. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $97,200 - $182,000 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $46.55 - $87.16 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). | |
