Utility Worker - Hiring Event (Start within 1-2 weeks of offer)


Date: June 18, 2026


Location: PCA Akron - 708 Killian Rd, Akron, OH 44319


Pay: $19.60/hr + overtime + shift differential


Schedule: 2nd and 3rd shift - occasional Saturdays



We are hiring 10 Utility Workers through a scheduled hiring event at our Akron facility. This is a small, invite-only event. Qualified candidates will be selected and scheduled for a specific interview time slot. Selected candidates will receive confirmed interview times, event details, and instructions. Same-day offers may be extended.

Basic Qualifications:



  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be available to work both the second and third shift, including overtime and weekends as needed
  • Must have a good attendance record
  • Must be available to attend the hiring event on June 18, 2026


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in a packaging or manufacturing environment
  • Experience operating forklift or other types of heavy machinery
  • Demonstrated longevity of at least eight months in previous employment


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Ability to share ideas with others to solve problems of essential importance.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Work with a sense of urgency to reduce downtime of machines.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.


What You'll Do:



  • Work as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Support production and maintenance operations.
  • Move materials and assist with general labor tasks.
  • Maintain shop and shop equipment per 5S Standards.
  • May be required to stack parts up to 50 lbs for a period of up to 12 hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS




  • Starting salary for position: $19.60 per hour + shift differential
  • Bonus: Annual - Based upon achievement of plant performance metrics.
  • Paid Vacation: 2 weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.

  • Within the first 30 days of employment, an employee (and their dependents) is eligible to enroll in certain benefit coverages -- medical, dental, and vision - and are automatically enrolled in life, AD&D, and disability coverages.
  • Upon hire, an employee is automatically enrolled in the 401k plan. The plan offers both pre-tax and Roth contribution options along with employer provided matching contributions.
