Position Summary: This is a paid college student intern or Co-Op position that supports the Design Engineering Department. This position is temporary; LCEC employee benefits are not available to interns in this position.


Position Responsibilities: This internship combines productive work for the benefit of the E/O Division with educational experiences for the intern. In addition to working on projects supporting Design & Engineering, the intern may spend time shadowing and assisting employees in the Transmission, Substation, and Distribution departments.



  • Organize transmission drawings.
  • Assist with standards development.
  • Assist with assembly unit development.
  • Assist with work order analysis.
  • Perform quality assurance checks for design projects.
  • Track and document project progress.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with employees and customers at all levels within LCEC. Ensure smooth operations, productive communications, and effective understanding during all interpersonal contacts. Provide current and accurate information to all requesters, courteously and in a timely manner.


Required Qualifications:



  • Incumbent must be enrolled in an institution of post-secondary education and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in an Engineering field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer programs.


Desired Qualifications:



  • Pursuing B.S. degree in Power or Electrical Engineering.
  • Prior Engineering intern/co-op experience.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in Electric Utility industry.
