Cashier/Customer Service Essential Duties And Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reports for scheduled work regularly and on time. Notifies supervisor as soon as possible regarding the need and expected duration of any absence. Ensures that quality customer service is provided to all customers, donors and employees. Follows all customer service guidelines; strives to provide exceptional customer service and ensures customer feels appreciated. Handles customer or donor complaints or inquiries appropriately. Answers customer’s questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise. Processes received merchandise and donations, pulls or rotates merchandise, prices and tags merchandise purchased by customer to determine bill. Accepts payment and makes change. Wraps or bags merchandise for customers. Cleans shelves, counters, or tables and performs janitorial duties as required. Follows all policies, procedures, and work rules. Practices safe lifting techniques and follows all safety standards. Qualifications Education and/or Experience Language Skills Mathematical Skills Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
