Summary The Supply Planner optimizes parts inventory to maximize availability and service levels while minimizing excess, obsolete, and slow-moving stock. This role develops replenishment strategies, manages stocking policies, and ensures the right parts are available at the right place and time. Working cross-functionally with operations, procurement, warehouse, and service teams, the Supply Planner combines analytical expertise with operational knowledge to continuously improve inventory performance. The role relies on SAP S/4HANA and Power BI to monitor inventory health, analyze usage patterns, and drive data-based decisions. Responsibilities Inventory Management Manage parts inventory to achieve target service levels and fill rates while controlling inventory investment Set and maintain replenishment parameters: reorder points, safety stock, min/max levels, lead times, lot sizes, and planning policies Analyze usage trends to reduce stockouts, backorders, emergency freight, and excess or obsolete inventory Identify and act on opportunities to disposition, transfer, or return dead and slow-moving stock Warehouse & Operations Partner with warehouse and branch teams to ensure inventory accuracy, proper storage, and timely cycle counts Investigate discrepancies and stockouts, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions Monitor that receiving, put-away, replenishment, and transfer transactions are completed accurately Planning & Strategy Review demand patterns, seasonality, and equipment lifecycle changes to adjust stocking strategies Evaluate inventory across all locations - warehouses, field vans, lockers, and customer sites - to optimize positioning Recommend inter-branch transfers and stock rebalancing to improve availability and reduce redundancy Coordinate with procurement on supplier performance and lead time management Reporting & Improvement Manage branch inventory performance to meet KPI targets using BI dashboards and analytics Lead continuous improvement initiatives across inventory, warehouse, and supply chain processes Stay current on industry best practices and emerging supply chain technologies Key Metrics Fill rate * Service level * Inventory accuracy * Stockout rate * Inventory turns * Dead/obsolete stock * Backorder and emergency freight frequency * Warehouse transaction accuracy Qualifications 5+ years in materials planning, supply chain, or a related role; or a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Operation Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities Advanced Excel required (pivot tables, VLOOKUP); Power BI proficiency preferred ERP experience required; SAP S/4HANA experience a plus APICS certification a plus Effective communicator and cross-functional collaborator Workplace Requirements The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
