The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

In collaboration with the anesthesiologist/CRNA, the anesthesia technician will function as a member of the team to organize and administer individualized age-specific care to patients in the surgical suite and across the perioperative division. The anesthesia technician will coordinate and provide technical support to the providers of anesthesia in the operating room, assist with the educational development of learners within the anesthesia department, assist with patient care, and maintain and ensure the availability of supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited program in Anesthesia Technology, or a suitable combination of education and 2 years of experience.
• Anesthesia Technician Certificate
• BLS through the American Heart Association
  

Scheduling Requirements:

• Full-Time Day Shift (40 hours per week)
• 6am - 2:30pm

Essential Functions:

• Anticipates the anesthesiologists needs when a case deviates from the normal and is able to provide a smooth transition
• Assists anesthesiologists with IV/Central line placement
• Assists the anesthesiologist during patient induction and intubation
• Communicates pertinent information surrounding optimum patient care to the appropriate patient care provider
• Ensures availability of equipment such as pacemakers, transport monitors, cables, oxygen, and infusion pumps
• Maintains and cleans anesthesia machines. Prepares and calibrates anesthesia machines prior to start of surgery
• Maintains and cleans equipment including cleaning and disinfection of TEE probes
• Practices principles of aseptic technique when gloving, handling probes, scopes, central lines, and IV's
• Properly prepares IV solutions/medication
• Stocks anesthesia carts and orders supplies as indicated
• Performs all other duties as assigned
