*Golang Software Engineer (Backend / Microservices)* *Location:* 100% Remote (U.S.-based)
*Employment Type:* Contract (Potential for Conversion) *Overview* We are seeking a *Golang Software Engineer* to join a high-impact engineering team focused on building modern backend services. This role will work closely with senior engineers to develop scalable, cloud-native applications leveraging *microservices architecture* and cutting-edge technologies. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a large-scale modernization initiative while working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with strong engineering practices. *Key Responsibilities* * Design, build, test, and maintain backend services using *Golang* * Develop and scale applications within a *microservices architecture* * Build and integrate *APIs* and event-driven systems * Deploy and manage applications in *cloud environments* (GCP preferred) * Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, Product, and Business Analysts * Participate in troubleshooting, production support, and issue resolution * Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and system architecture * Support and enhance platform services and shared infrastructure components *Required Qualifications* * *4+ years* of overall software development experience * *1+ year of hands-on experience with Golang (Go)* in backend development * Experience building and maintaining *microservices-based systems* * Strong knowledge of: * APIs * Distributed systems and event-driven architecture * Cloud platforms (preferably *Google Cloud Platform*) * Experience working with: * *Docker* and *Kubernetes* * Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) * CI/CD pipelines * Monitoring and observability tools * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently * Ownership mindset across full development lifecycle *Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills* * DevOps experience * Familiarity with *AWS* * Experience with *C#* * Knowledge of *Jenkins* or other CI/CD tools * Experience with: * AI / Machine Learning * Large Language Models (LLMs) * Cloud Spanner, MongoDB Atlas * Event-based or distributed systems *Education* * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred but not required) *What Makes This Opportunity Unique* * Work on modern, cloud-native technologies including *Golang + GCP* * Exposure to diverse backend projects in a growing platform environment * Collaborative team culture with strong engineering leadership * Opportunity for long-term growth and potential full-time conversion * Flexible, fully remote work environment *Top Skills (Must-Have)* * Golang (Go) * API development * Kubernetes * Docker * Microservices * Cloud (GCP preferred) * Terraform *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of Atlanta, GA. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
