Our sellers are key to how customers and partners understand Microsoft's products and strategies, but how do we align the conversations of thousands of sellers with each other and with the company's strategy? Making sure that the sellers are having the right conversations at the right time is key to the company's success, and the Worldwide Incentive Compensation team connects strategy to seller behavior in one of the most important ways:by aligning company aspirations with seller incentives.

Worldwide Incentive Compensation (WWIC) is the team at Microsoft that is responsible for the design, implementation and operations related to the sales and incentive plans across all of Microsoft, impacting 40K+ employees. Our vision is to embody best-in-class, design-to-deployment incentive compensation that inspires sellers to maximize their success and rewards and enables sustainable growth, share, and customer success.

The Sales Insights Analytics Manager analyze sales performance data, provide actionable insights, and collaborate with stakeholders to continuously improve our compensation plans. This opportunity will allow you to dive deep into the world of business analytics, leveraging quantitative analyses and modeling to inform decision-making. You'll synthesize findings, develop performance reports, drive continuous process improvement, and communicate results to senior executives and sales leadership. Moreover, you'll have the chance to engage with cross-functional teams, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and drive innovation across the organization.



Responsibilities

Business and Data Landscape

  1. Applies deep knowledge of the business, data landscape, tools, technologies, and data lineage across multiple domains.
  2. Connects business topics to relevant data sources and external trends, anticipating data and business requirements.
  3. Proactively frames business questions into analytical solutions and identifies opportunities to enhance or automate data infrastructure and insights.
  4. Builds strong crossfunctional connections to enable effective data sourcing, integration, and evaluation of business questions.
  5. Stays current on analytics tools, best practices, and regulatory changes, while coaching others to broaden business and data understanding.

Analytics & Evaluation

Conduct scenario modeling and effective reviews of compensation plans.

Evaluate model performance and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Interpret and communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, linking analytical findings to business objectives and recommending data-driven actions.

Stakeholder Engagement

Act as a trusted advisor to sales and finance leaders, providing insights that influence compensation strategy and seller behavior.

Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to define project roadmaps, evaluate model performance, and ensure continuous improvement through feedback loops.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

Contribute to the development of global tools and processes for compensation analytics.

Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.

Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data science and incentive design.

Governance and Compliance

Assesses programs for potential risks, verifying adherence to company policies and procedures when executing compensation practices.

Identifiescontrol measures and governance needs.



Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 2+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 4+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Business Administration Degree or Master's Degree in Finance, Computer Science, Data Science Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years' experience working in a large or highly matrixed organization, preferably in the technology industry.
  • 3+ years program leadership/management experience.
  • 3+ years' experience modeling data or statistical forecasting using software packages (e.g., ADX/Azure Stack, SQL, R, Python, Excel)
  • 1+ years' experience of using Microsoft data products (Power BI, Kusto, Fabric, etc.)


Data Analytics IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
