As a Director, Investor Relations supporting the Finance Team, you will be trusted to support the development, implementation, and day-to-day management of the Company's global investor relations program, aligned with Alcon's global strategy. The role will help communicate Alcon's value proposition to the investment community as the Company advances its position as the world's leading global eye care device company. This leader brings strong collaboration and project management skills to help execute Alcon's IR strategy and support shareholder value creation. The role also performs investor-targeting analytics and monitors market expectations based on news flow and competitor earnings releases throughout the reporting cycle. In addition, this role will collaborate closely with Alcon's Financial Reporting, Business Planning and Analysis, Legal, Corporate Communications, and other stakeholders on messaging and issue management to ensure communications to external and internal audiences are integrated and consistent. The Investor Relations Director is accountable for aligning the tone and strategy of investor relations activities with Alcon's vision and business objectives. This role is based out of our Fort Worth, TX office.

This position can be offered at Sr. Director, Investor Relations depending on the candidate's experience and qualification

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Partner with the Investor Relations team to continue building and strengthening a comprehensive investor relations program. This position reports to the Vice President, Global Investor Relations.
  • Coordinate ongoing engagement with the investment community and ensure timely responses to investor inquiries.
  • Prepare key investment messages and communicate financial performance, business conditions, strategy, key developments, and growth fundamentals to sell-side analysts and investors.
  • Ensure positioning and messaging are consistent with the Company's strategy; partner with Corporate Communications to align investor communications with overall corporate messaging.
  • Compile and validate data for quarterly and annual reporting materials, as well as investor and Board presentations.
  • Develop and maintain presentation materials used by senior management across a range of investor-related engagements.
  • Partner with Legal in planning for the Annual General Meeting and lead annual corporate governance outreach efforts.
  • Manage content for the investor relations section of the corporate website and support implementation of related communications strategy.
  • Provide hands-on execution for Alcon roadshows and other investment community meetings, including schedules, logistics, and supporting materials.
  • Monitor analysts' expectations on a quantitative and qualitative basis; highlight significant variances between external expectations and internal outlook. Maintain detailed consensus models for Alcon.
  • Monitor relevant sector developments, including competitor earnings and news, product announcements, and regulatory changes that may impact Alcon's volatility.
  • Maintain the IR contact database in a timely manner and deliver periodic reporting to measure the effectiveness of Alcon's investor relations program.
  • Travel: 25%-30%.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs., Assoc.+14 yrs.; M.S.+7 yrs.; PhD+3 yrs.)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 10 Years of Relevant Experience

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience in investor relations, or in investment banking, equity research, business development, finance, strategy, and/or consulting, preferably with a focus on healthcare
  • Strong financial analysis and modeling skills, including a clear understanding of the techniques used by security analysts to project operating and financial performance and derive equity valuation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, executive presence, and strong presentation skills; ability to influence, build alignment, and serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders.
  • Experience with Bloomberg or other market data platforms.
  • Ability to distill complex information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Exceptional judgment and the ability to operate effectively across organizational boundaries.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and self-starter with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and demonstrate sound business judgment.
