DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Chemistry Technician within the DNA Division, you will perform critical technical and support tasks essential to DNA laboratory operations. Your role will focus on maintaining instrumentation and executing a comprehensive quality assurance program to meet internal and external regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include the preparation and quality control of reagents, solutions, and DNA quantification standards used by forensic scientists. Additionally, you will manage chemical inventories, document laboratory activities, and assist in the development or revision of methods to ensure total analytical precision. By maintaining equipment and supporting database functions, you will ensure the integrity of the laboratory's forensic results. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirement:
- Completion of 60 college credits including nine credits in chemistry.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- This job title has been identified as performing critical duties. Prior to placement in this job title, the selected candidate regardless of their current job, must submit a report of medications for screening by the State Police Medical Officer.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
