Fleet Operations Specialist

The ideal candidate will have the following:

Primary Duties

1. Oversees the maintenance and repair of fleet assets to maximize uptime and control the total cost of ownership. Partners with the fleet management vendor on all aspects of the preventative maintenance and accident management programs including vendor selection and relationship management. Serves as the final approving authority for maintenance and repair requests, confirming accuracy prior to final approval.

2. Conducts regular reviews of the preventative maintenance parameters and vendor performance. Leads the ongoing refinement of the parameters, actively manages shop turnaround time to minimize vehicle or equipment downtime, and supports operational continuity. Partners closely with vendors to review trends, address services issues, and identify improvement opportunities.

3. Administers telematics for vehicle health, diagnostics, and vehicle utilization.

4. Manages registration renewals for all fleet assets, confirming timely processing and regulatory compliance.

5. Implements and oversees the fuel card program to confirm proper use, detect irregularities, and analyze data to prevent fuel fraud and misconduct. Works closely with the fleet management vendor on fuel card strategy, spend parameters, and exposure mitigation.

6. Manages state and federal regulatory compliance (DOT, IRP, IFTA, FMSCA, EPACT, etc.). Works closely with Safety and Training to assure safe operations, training, and compliance with State and Federal DOT rules and laws.

7. Responsible for the fleet asset remarketing process including roles and responsibilities, technology, and training content, staying aligned with fleet optimization guidelines.

8. Analyzes information related to operations, maintenance, and compliance to identify trends and continuous improvement opportunities. Develops and proposes recommendations to department leadership.

9. Builds and maintains strong relationships with division leaders to assess business challenges, identify constraints, and develops and implements solutions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Educational/Experience Level:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field, and five years experience in project/program management or fleet operations; or requires a high school diploma or equivalent and seven years in project/program management or fleet operations.
Must have working knowledge of vehicle systems, maintenance practices, and repair processes.

Communication Skills:
Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information.

Numeric Skills
Requires the ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages and simple statistical methods.

Computer Skills:
Requires ability to utilize various business software applications such as MS Word and MS Excel, Access, and other
Company reporting systems as needed.

Physical Demands:
Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.

Work Conditions:
Works in both office and field environments.
Some travel may be required as this position is responsible for enterprise objectives, and business management.
