Position Description:
This position is responsible for using a wide variety of precision measuring equipment to perform visual and mechanical inspection of critical tolerances of machined parts, assemblies, sub-assemblies and completed units.
Essential Functions:
* Checks tolerance and finishes of machined parts, wound components, subassemblies and completed units using a variety of tools and gauges.
* Comfortable using handheld micrometers, calipers, and comparators.
* Familiar with using electronic indicators and digital height gages
* Familiar with using thread plugs, thread rings, plug gages, and ring gages.
* Verifies each step in the process is completed and recorded properly.
* Uses test equipment and gauges following engineering instructions.
* Summarize, file, and maintain records and parts traceability.
* Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
* Able to communicate effectively with other departments.

Required Education & Experience:
* High School Diploma or equivalent with knowledge of advanced shop math.
* Basic understanding of metrology principles
* Be able to use a wide variety of precision mechanical, optical and electro-mechanical measuring instruments
* 5+ years' experience in mechanical inspection or manufacturing environment strongly preferred
* Must be US Citizen
