Overview VTG is seeking an Associate Software Test Engineerto support our Navy customer inManassas, VA. This role requires onsite work 4 days a week in a classified environment. Dozens ofNavy tacticalsystems ranging between legacy software installed on bare metaltomicro-containers running in anon-premisescloud need to bedelivered,installed,integratedand testedrapidly and securely.Thisrolewill involvedeveloping fixes,delivery, installation,integration,andtestingofone of the Navy tacticalsoftwaresystems - Common Infrastructure Services (CIS). What will you do? This role is tointegrate andtest a combat system (CIS)inalarger integrated tactical system. This role will primarily be software testing, and system troubleshooting.The selected candidate will work with avastteam ofSoftwareTesters, Integrators, Integrated Logistics Specialists, SystemsEngineers,Software Developers,andSystem Operators. The candidate willbe responsible for: TestingCIS system in multiple test beds Assistingin software build and delivery Provide technical input to program managers and government representatives Primarily on-site work but some options for work from home Do you have what it takes? Experienceas a DevOps, Software, Integration, or Testengineer (or similar role) Bachelor's ormaster's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology(or similar degree) Comfortable working inLinuxfrom the command line(RHEL/Centos 7,8, 9) Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Initiative, innovation, and resourcefulness. US Citizen with current SECRET Clearance or ability to obtain a SECRET clearance Successful completion of background check Desired Qualifications/Skills/Abilities: Experience with modern PaaS environment tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, Podman,KVM, or Helm Experience with CI/CD tools, languages, and frameworks (Jenkins, Ansible,GitOps, Nexus, Robot Framework) Experience with shell scripting languages Experience with Automated Testing Experience developing software with C++ or Java Experience as a Linux administrator Networking experience Experience with navaltacticalsystems, preferably submarinefire control systems
