Position Summary

Assists in optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and supporting shop floor operations. Responsibilities include analyzing workflows, designing tooling, updating documentation, troubleshooting equipment, and conducting data analysis to reduce waste. Work on hands-on projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement lean manufacturing techniques and improve safety.

Responsibilities

  • Process Improvement: Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify and implement cost reductions, efficiency improvements, and waste elimination projects.

  • Documentation Support: Create, update, and maintain, work instructions, operating procedures, and 3D CAD documentation.

  • Production Support: Troubleshoot production issues on the shop floor, providing technical support to assembly teams.

  • Tooling & Equipment: Assist in designing tooling/fixtures and evaluating equipment performance.

  • Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and present manufacturing data (e.g., cycle times, yield rates) to identify trends.

  • Project Management: Support engineering teams with new product launches (NPI) or facility layout changes.

Qualifications

  • Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program for Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of lean manufacturing concepts (5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma) is usually required.

  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and communication skills.
