Org Marketing Statement

Position Summary

This position supervises the maintenance activity of the facility through the preventive maintenance program and an ongoing maintenance repair program for the facility, production and process equipment. Responsible for technical support of facility planning, design, construction, and maintenance to achieve efficiency and cost objectives. In addition to improving equipment reliability, maintenance effectiveness, and plant uptime by applying engineering principles, reliability tools, and data-driven maintenance strategies. Coordinates work with all service and production departments. Reports to the Technical Services Manager. This position will have direct reports and will also supervise third-party contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, schedules, assigns and supervises work of the maintenance department.

  • Supervise maintenance of building, machinery and grounds and procurement of necessary materials

  • Effectively demonstrates team member competencies and participates in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.

  • Maintains facility equipment and preventative maintenance programs. Satisfies ongoing documentation of testing on security and fire systems.

  • Plan, coordinate, execute and maintain accurate records for preventive maintenance program

  • Inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.

  • Analyzes, interprets, and formulates policies and recommends changes to facilities management systems and procedures.

  • Oversee complex planning, design, reconfiguration, construction, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities. Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions and/or permit requirements, required completion dates, and construction feasibility. Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs. Obtains quotes and supplies cost information on facility construction or improvement projects.

  • Responsible for updating and maintaining plant layout master drawing CAD file.

  • Responsible for ensuring team compliance with environmental, health and safety policies for the facility.

  • Coordinate the installation and service of electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls, outlets, fixtures, motors and other such equipment.

  • Test, maintain and evaluate equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers and pressure gauges.

  • Perform skilled maintenance activities including construction, welding, brazing, soldering and plumbing. Check and repair pumps, fans, valves and motors. Adjust, repair and replace electrical and electronic pneumatic relays. Perform related work as required.

  • Maintain accurate engineering records (drawings, schematics, BOM impacts, asset documentation).
  • Maintains supplier/contractor relationships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering related field required. 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Effective diagnostic techniques along with a working knowledge of electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits as well as mechanical components.
  • Knowledge of facility engineering principles, industry practices, regulations, and policies.
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to facilities, equipment and plant layout.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, with excellent communication skills. Ability to effectively apply continuous improvement methods and techniques.
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated execution of equipment/process improvements.
  • Proficiency in working from electronic blueprints and schematics, engineering drawings and sketches and in the use of precision test and measurement equipment.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • PLC/controls troubleshooting exposure (Allen-Bradley/Siemens), basic electrical safety knowledge.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, CMMS and CAD software required.
  • Comprehensive presentational skills including experience using Power Point to develop presentations required.
  • Must have ability to effectively coordinate with others at a cross-functional level.
  • Position requires strong ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form in order to present information and respond to inquiries from employees, customers, and suppliers.
