POSITION SUMMARY:
Broad responsibility for managing engineering services such as hardware and software configuration management, data management and technical support roles. Support company programs and implement policies in a specialized and/or centralized function. Serves as a subject matter expert, advisor, and consultant to top management on engineering services. Includes supervisory responsibility for a staff located at multiple sites in the division. Is responsible for execution of the function for the division.

This position has Direct Reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Applies comprehensive knowledge in a unique area of expertise to develop and manage engineering service activities and perform complex assignments and analyses.
* Formulates team objectives; designs, develops, and implements systems and procedures of a complex nature to meet future business needs or regulatory requirements. Has broad responsibility to coordinate implementation efforts across the division.
* Recommends actions to division leadership team regarding policies and procedures on critical matters by analyzing and interpreting data and making complex comparative analyses. Researches and interprets complex policies and regulations. Develops proposed changes in
* methods and policies within the division that may require corporate or external involvement and/or review.
* Ensures processes and guidelines comply with company policy, legal requirements, and applicable government regulations.
* Establishes team goals and objectives and obtains resources and commitments required to complete critical projects. Assesses risks and develops contingency and communication plans to ensure implementation and ongoing successful performance.
* Establishes reporting systems. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops unique solutions to meet goals and objectives.
* Represents company on specific functional responsibilities including audits and/or program reviews. Builds and maintains effective communication and relationships through frequent interaction with industry peers, government agencies, external vendors and customers as appropriate.
* Shares specialized knowledge with others; may provide formal training and communication in focused areas of expertise. Trains and mentors less experienced employees. Work assignments include cross-functional or project team responsibilities requiring understanding of internal customers and operational challenges.
* Complies with federal and state legal requirements and professional standards. Studies existing and new legislation, enforces adherence to requirements, and advises management on needed actions.
* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing professional networks, and active participation in professional societies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in Business Administration or Engineering Management or a related field, and experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field.
* Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through ten (10) or more years of increasingly responsible related experience including two or more years managing team or projects of significant scope and responsibility.
* Advanced degree and related specialty certification preferred.
* Position requires ability to travel domestically, up to 10% of the time, and internationally, less than 5% of the time.
* Comprehensive knowledge of principles, industry practices, regulations, and policies in area of administrative responsibility. Knowledge of complex legal and regulatory requirements related to program administration.
* Able to apply general program management techniques to establish program plans and report status utilizing program management software.
* Ability to effectively assess, lead, and implement programmatic changes in critical and/or high-impact areas.
* Ability to work on most complex and/or sensitive problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables and/or incomplete data; understand problems from a broad, long-term perspective.
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex policies and recommend changes to procedures.
* Ability to respond to significant inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
* Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, team leaders, customers, and top management.
* Proficient with standard business applications software (e.g. databases, spreadsheets, etc.)
* Ability to effectively demonstrate effective business skills and participate in goal-setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.

TYPICAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit. The employee frequently is required to use hands to operate a computer and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Also expected of the employee is regular attendance, the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others and members of the public, and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.

Competitive Compensation

  • Pay Range: $100300 to $159400 annually
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
