We have an exciting opening for an N/C Programmer in Hicksville, OH.

Your day-to-day / What we are expecting from you / Your responsibilities

  • Write N/C programs to drive the N/C machine tools.
  • Select the proper cutting tools, speeds and feeds, and cutting tool applications to safely and economically produce a part to the manufacturing engineering specification or drawing.
  • Interface with manufacturing support groups for fixturing and manufacturing concepts.
  • Prepare and maintain all setup documentation.
  • Maintain organized data folders or other shop communication methods.
  • Modify part programs based on awareness for part quality, part cost, and urgency for priority assignments.
  • Enter machining data into the DNC (Direct Numerical Control) system for downloading to the machine tools, if required.
  • Perform other related responsibilities.
  • Maintain Team Improvement Boards and Tracking Center using PDCA to ensure results and assure no problems are hidden.

Who we are looking for

  • Ability to manually program N/C machines with a basic understanding of APT, Compact II, or similar programming language.
  • Machine shop background with proven ability to operate N/C machinery at a precision level for a minimum of three years.
  • Thorough knowledge of N/C tooling, proper speeds and feeds for the material to be machined, and proper machine sequences.
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
  • Experience with LEAN teams or leading LEAN teams is preferred.
