Description

Note: APA operates on a 37.5-hour work week with one-hour lunch breaks each day. APA sets salaries based on several considerations, including years of relevant experience, level of education, and previous staff and/or governance experience at APA.

The Director, Library Channel leads APA Publishing's sales and marketing team for the academic research library market. The Director manages the day-to-day relationships with our global distribution partners to expand reach, improve customer experience, and drive sustainable growth. The Director is responsible for achieving annual sales and revenue goals for APA Publishing's database program, for building and maintaining a culture that is consistent with APA's mission, vision, and core competencies, and for advancing our global brands that stand for quality and impact.

Education and Experience Required:



  • A bachelor's degree (or 10+ years of equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in scholarly publishing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in leading sales, marketing, and related support staff.
  • Experience working in a non-profit association or society.


Computer Skills Required:



  • Advanced experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using Salesforce and related CRM tools.


Responsibilities:



  • Lead the development and execution of a cohesive global library channel strategy that unifies sales and marketing to achieve renewal, expansion, and new business revenue goals.
  • Set revenue targets, KPIs, and territory plans, and oversee forecasting, pipeline management, and performance reporting.
  • Strengthen global relationships with consortia, academic libraries, institutional purchasers, and key vendors/partners to expand APA's reach and impact.
  • Direct and coach a global team of library sales professionals responsible for managing renewals, driving account growth, and acquiring new institutional customers across APA's product portfolio.
  • Lead marketing team members in the creation of multichannel campaigns that generate inbound leads, support renewal efforts, and increase product awareness.
  • Ensure marketing strategies are datadriven and fully aligned with sales priorities, fostering a unified commercial approach.
  • Collaborate closely with product, content, and technology teams to ensure customer insights and market feedback inform product development and roadmap decisions.
  • Partner with customer engagement and support teams to ensure an exceptional postsale experience and drive strong renewal outcomes.
  • Potentially travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Other duties as assigned.
