JOB SUMMARY

Doble Engineering is seeking a Software Engineering CoOp. This will be a full-time position reporting into our corporate headquarters in Marlborough, MA. At this location we offer a state-of-the-art building with a fitness center, free parking, subsidized cafeteria, coffee stations, team social outings and it's conveniently located right off 495! CoOp students may be eligible to receive a monthly travel stipend.

The expectations of Doble CoOps are simply to learn, grow, and have fun in many areas of Engineering coupled to delivering the next generation of software products that are helping to transform the utility industry, its business practices, and overall efficiency.

Specifically, Doble Engineering CoOps will have the opportunity to be a part of teams that help shape how software products are defined, designed, implemented, qualified, and delivered. Doble is committed to working with its CoOps to find the right fit for their skill set as well as personal aspirations.

The duration of this position will be a minimum of 6 months, full-time (40 hours per week) Monday-Friday.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



  • The essential qualities of what will make a Doble CoOp successful are their desire to grow, aptitude to learn, and ability to apply.
  • This CoOp will be joining our Software team and working alongside our Engineers. We are seeking a Co-Op with an interest in Computer or Electrical Engineering.
  • The CoOps develop in an Agile environment; we have 3-week sprints and demos so you get feedback on your contributions.
  • Get the opportunity to work alongside other software engineers but also collaborate with embedded developers.
  • CoOps will leverage their Linux skills to grow embedded debugging skills and learn how to program and test real time environments.
  • You will be developing engineering test and validation using tools such as Jenkins.

  • Agile based iterative development model
  • Full Stack N-Tier, SaaS application development
  • C# .NET Framework, C++, Java, and/or Python (experience with one or more of these languages)
  • HTML5, Ajax, JavaScript, CSS, JSON
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • MariaDB
  • Security and Vulnerability management
  • Visual Studio IDE


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Must be pursuing a degree(s) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:



  • Motivated self-starter with an aptitude for learning new skills and environments quickly while multi-tasking
  • Ability to spot problematic areas, analyze solutions, propose resolutions, and direct their implementation is essential
  • Candidates should have a technical background
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as within a team environment


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job. Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds. Must use assistance when lifting 50 or more pounds.
