Position Summary:

Global Power Components is seeking a highly technical, business oriented Project Manager to lead complex, engineer to order (ETO) manufacturing projects for large scale industrial customers. These projects involve multimillion dollar budgets, long lead components, and high customer visibility. This role is ideal for someone who is energized by dynamic, fast moving production environments, excels at Smartsheet based scheduling and workflow automation, and can confidently interface with customers, engineering, and operations to keep custom builds on track. You'll own the project lifecycle from early engineering review through product execution, requiring both strategic foresight and daily tactical oversight.

Core Responsibilities:

Project Leadership & Customer Alignment

  • Serve as the primary project owner for multiple custom industrial builds.
  • Translate customer requirements, engineering specifications, and commercial commitments into actionable production plans.
  • Maintain strong communication with customer facing teams to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and deliverables.

Advanced Scheduling & Workflow Management

  • Build, manage, and optimize project schedules in Smartsheet, including dependencies, critical paths, dashboards, and automated alerts.
  • Adjust schedules in real time based on engineering changes, production constraints, and supply chain updates.
  • Use Smartsheet reporting to drive transparency, predict risks, and support executive level decision making.

Production Coordination & Risk Mitigation

  • Monitor daily production progress and proactively remove bottlenecks.
  • Track long lead and high value components that directly impact customer delivery commitments.
  • Conduct hands on inspections of custom components to validate readiness and quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering to review drawings and BOMs weeks in advance to ensure production readiness.

Cross Functional Communication

  • Partner with engineering, supply chain, production, sales, and shipping to maintain seamless project flow.
  • Lead or participate in daily huddles, micro meetings, and cross departmental updates.
  • Provide clear, data driven updates to internal stakeholders and leadership.

Requirements:

  • Strong proficiency with Smartsheet (or similar project management tools) including schedule building, dashboards, formulas, and workflow automation.
  • Experience managing ETO or custom manufacturing projects.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with constant change and multiple active workstreams.
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Smartsheet.

Preferred:

  • Background in manufacturing, industrial equipment, or construction management.
  • Experience managing projects with multimillion dollar budgets or large industrial customers.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP, CAPM, or equivalent).
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and understand manufacturing workflows.
