Scope of Position

This highly motivated individual, as part of the Strategic Accounts Engage Team, will be responsible for supporting daily operations and leading the planning, design, and execution of turnkey project initiatives. The role also provides technical expertise and supplier development leadership to ensure quality, cost efficiency, logistics performance, and the timely achievement of critical business milestones.

This position has no direct reports to start.

This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Projects. This role is remote and based in the Northeast region.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Transform conceptual sketches, redlines and layouts provided by the project development team to develop technical CAD drawings for turnkey projects.

  • Work with engineers, project managers, and clients to translate ideas into functional designs and technical drawings.

  • Assist project development team in sizing, specifying and integrating Watts brand's equipment and third-party equipment to generate complete system solutions.

  • Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date CAD files and technical documentation in compliance with company and industry standards.

  • Develop and review equipment layouts and piping schematics for customer approval and field use.

  • Identify potential design issues and suggest improvements to confirm compliance, identify risks, and resolve technical gaps early in the project lifecycle.

  • Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to codes before final submission.

  • Assist project development team in generating project specific scopes of work for contractors to base their pricing on.

  • Assist project development team in generating cost estimates and proposals.

  • Conduct occasional field visits to sketch existing conditions of mechanical rooms and collect data.

  • Lead and support design-related discussions, technical clarification, and coordination activities with contractors and vendors.

  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by Senior Manager, Projects or Company management.

  • Responsibility directly tied to Watts Value (Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, Transparency)

  • Travel Requirements: 50% travel is required to job sites and meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

  • Minimum 7 years of mechanical design.

  • Strong proficiency in CAD platforms, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar software, with the ability to produce complex layouts and schematics.

  • Solid understanding engineering principles, material properties, and manufacturing processes.

  • Strong knowledge of heating and hot water systems.

  • Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, schematic diagrams, and mechanical equipment specifications.

  • High attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills for teamwork.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advance technical certifications in mechanical systems or CAD

  • Experience using construction or project management software preferred.

Working Conditions:

While performing the job duties, you will be working remotely in an office environment. You may be required to travel to and work in the office at the Blauvelt, NY office location for meetings, trainings, or as otherwise required by Company management.

Physical Requirements: Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to:

Work Environment

  • Travel to job sites and meetings is required, averaging about twice per month depending on workload and project needs.

  • Primary work is remote, with the ability to work in office and manufacturing environments as needed.

  • Must be comfortable working in mechanical and electrical service rooms and around operating equipment.

  • Role requires frequent walking, talking, and hearing.

  • Physical activities include lifting up to 25 lbs., climbing ladders and stairs, bending, extended walking, exposure to weather, operating vehicles, and using hand or power tools.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive computer-based tasks (typing, mouse use).

  • Ability to move throughout the office and handle files, packages, and small office materials.

  • Requires reading documents, using a computer, and performing data entry.

  • Clear communication with management and coworkers in meetings and calls is essential.

  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment (computers, printers, phones, copiers).

  • Occasional lifting and carrying of light office items such as supplies or small equipment.

Pay Range:

The expected salary range for this position is $136K - $149K yearly. Actual compensation will be dependent upon individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable law.
