Position Summary

Under direct supervision, perform spatial and tabular data edits in ArcGIS Pro to create, update, and maintain Prince William Water's horizontal and vertical asset registries, and digital records. Perform spatial analysis. produce custom map products and other spatial visualizations and reports. Demonstrates a commitment and supports a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.


Position Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions

  • Execute GIS production tasks, including asset status updates and QA/QC activities.
  • Analyze spatial and tabular data, as well as relational database tables.
  • Implement, improve, and document end-to-end GIS production key business processes.
  • Administer ArcGIS Data Reviewer, including running tests, enabling extensions, and managing associated databases.
  • Participate in records review meetings by providing ideas, suggestions, and findings.
  • Perform cleanup and maintenance of spatial and attribute data within the GIS asset registry.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Essential Skills and Experience

Essential Competencies:

  • Ability to use computers and other office equipment in an office setting.
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS Pro.
Minimum Education and Work Experience:
  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university with a major in GIS or related field. If enrolled in an undergraduate program, must be a sophomore, junior or senior upon employment.
Required Licenses/Certifications and other Special Requirements:
  • Students must have and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Minimum Lead/Supervisory or Management Experience:
  • None

  • Physical demands: The work is mostly sedentary with periods of light physical activity.
