WMP Billing Manager- Investment Advisory (IA) Support

Osaic has returned to the office on a hybrid schedule requiring a minimum of 4 days weekly in the office. Applicants should be located at one of our hubs listed above and must be willing to work this schedule.

Role Type: Full-time

Salary: $75k per year + annual performance-based bonus

Summary:

As the Manager of WMP Advisory Billing you will oversee the endtoend advisory fee billing process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. This role leads a team responsible for fee calculation, account-level reconciliation, exception resolution, and periodic auditing of advisory billing activities. The manager ensures that workflow processes are efficient, well-documented, and consistently executed. This role partners closely with Accounting, Operations, Technology, Compliance, and Advisory leadership to support a high-quality client experience and maintain financial integrity.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree preferred, high school diploma (or equivalent) in combination with significant experience will be considered in lieu of degree. Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily, monthly, and quarterly billing workflows to ensure accuracy and adherence to SLAs.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of fee billing analysts, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional growth opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain team procedures, process documentation, and internal controls.
  • Assign and manage workload distribution, ensuring timely completion of all billing cycles and reconciliation tasks.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to enhance process efficiency and automate manual workflows where appropriate.
  • Oversee accurate calculation of advisory fees, including tiered billing, breakpoint reviews, householding, and prorated adjustments.
  • Ensure data integrity between portfolio/accounting systems and billing platforms.
  • Identify and mitigate process risks, ensuring strong controls are in place to prevent errors.
  • Support internal and external audit requests, providing documentation and process explanations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that reduce errors, shorten cycle times, and strengthen oversight.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex fee inquiries from advisors, internal partners, and clients.
  • Provide reporting and analytics on billing trends, error rates, revenue impacts, and operational performance.

Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial services with at least 2 years in a leadership role managing managers or multiple teams or processes.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in billing, accounting, financial operations, or related functions.
  • Strong knowledge of investment advisory platforms, including Envestnet, clearing firms (Pershing/NFS), and related vendor systems.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliation processes, and internal controls.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent changes and competing priorities.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in wealth management, investment advisory operations or financial services billing.
  • Familiarity with advisory fee billing systems, portfolio accounting platforms, or CRM systems.
  • Audit or control testing experience.
  • FINRA licenses (Series 7 and others) strongly preferred; SIE completion.
  • Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFP, CIMA) a plus.
